A Minimalist Game

Over the past month or so I've been considering taking a challenge, more specifically this challenge. Mid-October I decided to pony up and take it on during the month of November. Wether it is a challenge, or a game, or a crazy adventure, or maybe even all three, it is going to be mine so I've altered the structure of it a little from its original form. I'm not going to go into detail of what the game is, you can read about it via the link above. This is simply a place for me to record my efforts and revisit my success (hopefully).

I am going to be doing this challenge by myself and I will not let this spill over onto my family. It's my thing, and I plan to keep it that way. Participation from my wife will only be by her choice and hers alone.

I am a big eBay/Craigslist/thrift fanboy and will do everything I can to not throw something away that can be used by someone else. Thus, an alteration to the original game comes about in the form of a box. I am going to be allowing myself the opportunity to put items into a box which is labeled "eBay" at the end of each day in addition to the options of either donating, giving away, or trashing. The stipulations I've placed on the eBay box are as follows: I cannot remove an item once it has been placed in the box. All items in the box at the end of the month will be sold on eBay or Craigslist by year end 2014 or be trashed.

It's December 1, 2014 and I must admit that I didn't complete the challenge in time. I could make excuses for why, however, I'd rather just say that if you're planning on doing this in the future, don't plan to do it during the holidays. That was poor foresight on my part. Yet, I was eager and accomplished over 90% of the challenge on time. I don't plan on leaving the challenge here. I am still going to finish out the last two days of items over the next week and call it a success.
